3 favorite Websites

My top three favorite sites from class are Greg's, Jordan's, and Rishi's

I liked Greg's website because it was very plain and consistent. It looked like he spent a lot of time on design which is why I really enjoyed his presentation.

Jordan's website was incredible. His was without a doubt the most interesting and fun. He added a ton of pictures which gave his site a really good design.

I like Rishi's website for a couple of reasons. His sand background was very cool. I liked his text because it blended in well with the rest of the site. Lastly, I like how he incorporated his background in Saudi Arabia into the site because you can learn a lot from the pictures and text.

CS 1300

I bit of advice about CS1300.

First off I would say that you must come to class. Missing class puts you way behind because almost all the skills you learn early in the course is applied to the class later. If you miss class you will be lost untill you make up the work missed in class. Tip number 2. Do your homework! If you take 0's on homework assignments it is impossible to make a good grade in this class. You must do it! Tip 3. Review a little bit for that first midterm. It can be really trickey if you havent reviewed at all. But if you put an hour or two into studying you should be fine. Overall, Great class and good luck!

HTML CODING

Anybody can purchase a web programming system to design a website. However, many people do not realize that you can create and design their own website using a notepad document. In a notepad document, you have absolute control over your site. Web designing programs can be difficult to use while HTML provides the designer with a simple coding. These codings consist of numbers and letters which tell the computer exactly what you want. When designing a website you may find it difficult at first. But both systems are easy to use with practice. It is important to know the differences before creating your own website! So use both and find out your own preference for yourself!

Powerpoint eval !!!

Wow!!! The power points in our class were very good. Everyone put in a lot of effort. I honestly don’t think anyone should make less than a 9o on this assignment. Here are the top 3 presentations. In 3rd place, I picked Greg Kerr. He did his over Sam Walton and it was a fabulous presentation. I found it very interesting that his daughter went to trinity. In 2nd place I picked Rueben Lucas. Accountancy is a major I am interested in. I loved the quality of presentation. And as for the best presentation, Jordan outdid everyone by a slightest margin. His backgrounds and preparedness was slightly better than the rest. The topic was a great choice and the overall quality of each slide was great. The rest of the class did a wonderful job and it was very hard to pick the best one. But GJ Jordan!

Places:
#1 Jordan
#2 Rueben
#3 Greg
#4 15-way tie

Nolan Presentation

Based on the topics of Mr. Nolans presentation I found many things interesting. One thing in particular was the google advanced search option. I will likely never use the "normal search" again. I found that advanced search option can find PDF and other formated documents which allow me to view credible sources and stay away from blogs and wiki sites. This is an extremely helpful tool when searching for sources on a term paper. With advanced search, you can find exactly what you're looking for!

Important 5 tips for PPP

I read the articles below and found them extremely helpful. They make great points and explain them in great detail. I strongly advise you research how to make an effective presentation before you go out and do it. One of the worst things you can do in a PP presentation is by adding in too much text. Here are 5 helpful tips to create an effective PowerPoint:1.) Use text as well as pictures to accommodate all types of learners2.) Keep it simple by avoiding TOO much text 3.) Use a variety of color, but use it in an appropriate manner4.) Make important points that you are trying to make stand out by font size5.) Sort your presentation so that it makes the most sense to your audience

Here are some great sites to visit before creating your own PowerPoint presentation:

TY Excel

The review on excel in this class is going to be one of the more important reviews that I can apply to my everyday life. I am so excited that I know how to use the program because it comes in handy with so many situations. With little prior knowledge on the program, I learned how to include data tables, how to make charts and graphs, absolute cell references, and I was refreshed on all of the basics of the office tool. I know from experience that this excel review will help me considerably down the road as I enter into math and computer courses. Beside the academic standpoint, I can’t wait to start and record my own personal budget on excel. I believe that the program is safe and a great way to keep track of salary and spending costs. Its advanced features can also allow me to keep track of investments by calculating interest rates. All of this important data can be on my own personal desktop and be safe by using the lock feature. The program seems limitless at what it can do and I look forward to working with it and discovering even more than i know now.
